Applications for Permissive Tax Exemptions

Section 224 of the Community Charter, gives Council the option to exempt certain lands and/or improvements from property taxes.  Council considers Permissive Tax Exemptions for non-profit organizations that contribute to the well-being of District residents and that make improvements to the quality of life for residents, and/or are an extension of District Services.
If you feel that your organization qualifies, you are required to complete the Permissive Tax Exemption application form in order to be considered for exemption from taxation for the upcoming year. A copy of your organization’s financial statements for the previous year must be attached to each application.
Council Policy No. AD-0010 is intended to provide guidance in the evaluation of applications for exemption from property taxes pursuant to Section 224 of the Community Charter.
Application forms including the Council Policy and the applicable sections of the Community Charter are available at the District of Lillooet’s Municipal Hall between the hours of 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday excluding holidays and on the District website at
Completed applications for exemptions must be received at the District of Lillooet Municipal Hall located at 615 Main Street, PO Box 610, Lillooet, BC, V0K 1V0 no later than 4:30 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
