At the Table Lillooet
Inspired by the Vancouver Foundation’s On The Table initiative, which aims to bring together people across BC to make new connections and talk about what matters most to them, At the Table Lillooet is an event which will gather representatives from Local Government, Service Clubs and Non-Profit Societies to share and dream together.
On Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 10am to 3pm, attendees will be guided through a series of facilitated conversations and exercises which will allow us to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the non-profit sector in Lillooet and identify areas needing support.
Focused discussions will explore topics such as:
  • Umbrella organizations
  • Funding
  • Organization missions and goals
  • Volunteer recruitment and retention
  • Fiscal management
  • Governance
Funders serving the Lillooet area will be invited to set up booths, allowing attendees to meet in person with potential funders and discuss their projects and eligibility. The following funders will be invited:
  • NDIT
  • Community Futures
  • Rural Dividend
  • Lillooet Community Foundation
  • BC Interior Community Foundation
  • Vancouver Foundation
  • United Way
  • 100 People Who Care Lillooet
  • Interior Savings

A 45-minute lunch break, with lunch provided, will allow for networking and further brainstorming. Organizations facing similar challenges will have the opportunity to connect and discuss future collaborations.
In conclusion, At the Table Lillooet will be an opportunity to assess the health of the non-profit sector in Lillooet, to share visions and to network. Our goal is that it will facilitate better sharing of resources in the future, support capacity building in the non-profit sector, and lead to better cooperation and communication between organizations.
